In cooperation with the Netherlands Afghanistan Business Council we have conducted an elementary evaluation of the business matchmaking process between the Dutch and Afghan companies. The main aim of this elementary evaluation report was ‘ to identify the factors which could have negative effect on the matchmaking process’. Based on the interviews with the Dutch and Afghan companies and the views of the experts it was noted that the culture differences, miscommunication, lack of expertise of the Afghan companies, limited knowledge of the consultants about the Afghan culture, insecurity and political instability were the main factors effecting the matchmaking process negatively. This report was shared and presented to the Netherlands Embassy in Afghanistan, Afghanistan Embassy in the Netherlands, Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Agentschap NL, Afghanistan Investment Support Agency and other relevant stakeholders.
